"Oh, Shift!" - Agentic Software Leader Content Series Upcoming - Volunteers err Victims Wanted

Over $1 Trillion in Venture Capital was deployed in the United States alone in the 5 years before ChatGPT went live (November 2022). In a tech world where 30-50% of total company expenses are engineering expenses, that is a lot of USELESS code out there if you believe the hype. In actuality, it's not useless. However, companies must evolve. And evolve they will. But how? If you are software company CEO, I would love to hear from you. Particularly if you have raised anything from a seed round, all the way up to a public company. Send me a Linkedin DM... and look for some very interesting names to come on the show.

What is the focus of this new content series?

In our corner of eCommerce, there is a lot of focus on agentic shopping, but not a ton on how software companies should run in the new world. I still find information overall lacking.. yes, some is being shared, but very often in a very bragging way and not so practical. As such, I am going to be starting a new content series over the next year and I am asking for volunteers.

Who is the content series for?

Software company CEOs who are navigating this shift to a world where AI can make our lives better, in areas like:

  • marketing and sales

  • product development

  • customer retention and service The discussions will be wide-ranging across these areas.

How will this new world of agentic AI affect software companies?

While everyone is already talking about how the world is already not the same, it's just not the case for most software companies out there. Shifts happen gradually because you can't just rewrite millions of lines of code whole cloth. And it's also just not true that all the software will just vanish into thin air. There is ample opportunity for existing popular software companies to reinvent themselves, take the best of AI, integrate with all the popular agent platforms and protocols, and still make it work for their current corporate users (who by the way, are not exactly reinventing themselves at breakneck speeds).

What are some key questions for leaders navigating this shift?

If you are a software company navigating this change, likely you have a few important questions you have been wondering about:

  • how do I keep reinventing on behalf of users?

  • how should I structure my company in this new world?

  • how many employees do I need? is that even a stupid question?

  • what should I do with my current codebase?

  • what does AI mean for each department?

  • how do I embed AI thinking deep in my company culture, and avoid "silver bullet" thinking? All this and more must be discussed and openly in a rational way for companies from tens to hundreds of millions of dollars.... so that we can all progress together.

How can I participate in this content series?

Hit me up as a direct message if you are navigating this shift and would like to participate and share your story.
